The way from stress to happiness
Humans have been working toward the pursuit of happiness since the beginning of time. Yet the concept of “happiness” is often hard to accurately define. Some thinkers maintain a virtue-based eudemonistic conception of ethics, others see it as a state of being and others define it using human needs’ fulfilment. Living the good life, flourishing, self-actualization, joy, and purpose are words that have been connected to happiness.
In recent years there has been a great deal of research on the benefits of happiness which are believed to be the same as the benefits from reducing stress since it has been found that among factors effective on happiness one is efficient coping style. Therefore, interventions designed to increase happiness may benefit from the inclusion of activities to manage and cope with stress.
